"I may be a bit of a unicorn because I regained my voice after only one session. Given I had been voiceless for over a year, that was a very pleasant surprise. Sacha was great. She explained exactly what was happening and why, in a way that was easy to understand. The exercises she gave me were easy to follow, and they were obviously effective. I would thoroughly recommend Sacha to anyone looking for help with their voice."
"The remote sessions with Sacha have been invaluable helping me to get my voice back. I could barely make a whisper for 6 months but it only took 2 to 3 sessions for my voice to come roaring back. She provided great expertise, guidance, and support. And the exercises were very effective. Highly recommended."
Common questions.
01 How quickly can I get an appointment? +
Appointments are typically available within 1-2 weeks. Telehealth sessions have quick availability and we have limited availability for in-person sessions on Saturdays. Book online and choose a time that works for you.
02 Do you serve patients outside of Wellington? +
Yes. While our clinic is in Wellington, we provide professional telehealth services across all of New Zealand. Same clinical expertise whether you're in Auckland, Christchurch, or anywhere nationwide.
03 Do you work only with adults? +
Yes. We specialise exclusively in adult communication and swallowing needs.
04 How flexible is your scheduling? +
We offer appointments during standard business hours, and some evening and weekend slots to accommodate your needs.
05 What's your cancellation policy? +
We request 24 hours notice when possible, but we maintain a flexible policy for illness and emergencies.
06 How long is a typical therapy session? +
Initial consultations last approximately 60 to 70 minutes to allow for thorough assessment, goal-setting, and therapy planning. Regular therapy sessions are typically 45-60 minutes, depending on the therapy goals.
07 How do telehealth sessions work? +
Our telehealth sessions use the secure Cal.com platform and are conducted in a confidential setting. We'll provide simple instructions and most clients find it effective and convenient.
08 Is telehealth as effective as in-person? +
Research shows telehealth can be equally effective for many speech therapy goals. For swallowing disorders, in-person is ideal for clinical assessment. Some people might benefit from in-person assessment as well.
09 How do referrals work? +
Referrals are accepted from medical specialists such as ENT, respiratory, and oncology doctors. Self-referrals are accepted and we will require medical information and likely involvement from medical specialists in order to treat appropriately.
10 Do I need a referral? +
To effectively work with either voice or upper airway conditions we do require a respiratory or ear, nose and throat assessment prior.
