Refer a patient
We accept referrals from medical specialists (ENT, respiratory, oncology) and from GPs with relevant clinical information. Patients can also self-refer with the right pre-assessments in place.
What we need to receive a patient
To work effectively with voice or upper airway conditions, we require respiratory or ENT pre-assessment. For swallowing referrals, we coordinate with your team for instrumental assessments (VFSS/FEES) where needed.
Voice
ENT laryngoscopy recommended; previous voice therapy notes welcome.
Upper airway
Respiratory or ENT pre-assessment required to rule out asthma or other causes.
Swallowing
Medical notes on cause (stroke, neuro, post-surgical); imaging if available.
How referrals work

Step 01
Send us the referral
Email referral letter and medical notes to sacha@sonaspeech.co.nz, or use the form below.

Step 02
We confirm receipt
Within one business day, we confirm we have what we need and identify which clinician (Sacha or Aoife) is best matched.

Step 03
We contact the patient
We book the initial assessment directly with the patient, so you don't need to chase.

Step 04
We loop back to you
After assessment, we send a clinical letter with findings and the treatment plan. We continue to update you at meaningful milestones.
